GEMS

GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) is a Christian girls club for grades 4th-8th. Meetings include a time of praise and worship, prayer, age-appropriate Bible studies, and crafts. This years theme is Get Wisdom. Girls also participate in fun activities throughout the year - late nighter retreats, mother- and/or father-daughter events, winter fun nights, biking, baking, badge work, etc.. Friends and neighbors are welcome. Meeting time: Typically the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month (Sept-April). (contact: Janna Boomstra or Paula Elenbaas)

Cadets

Cadets is a Christ-centered club for boys in 4th-8th grades. We have many Christian men who donate time to teach boys crafts and skills, but, more importantly, it is done in a Christian atmosphere. These men are called counselors and we typically have two counselors per class, trying to maintain at least a 3-to1 ratio of cadets to counselors. We are very involved in council activities. These activities usually occur on Saturdays and take place at various locations with as many as 21 other area churches. We do many activities as a club, such as swimming, gym night, Berlin races, weekend campouts, canoe trips, laser tag, etc. Meetings begin with a Bible lesson and then go into activities, projects or fun time. We close each meeting sining Living for Jesus and with prayer. Meeting time: Cadets typically meet three Mondays of each month (Sept-April) from 7-9pm in the church basement.
