Q. What is the history of First Byron Center Christian Reformed Church?
A. First Christian Reformed Church, or First Byron as we affectionately call ourselves, was established in 1902. Eleven different pastors have served us since our beginning in 1902. First Byron was started by a small group of people, primarily Dutch immigrants, who desired to have their own place of worship in Byron Center, Michigan.
God was faithful to us throughout the years and many more members joined, more programs were started and First Byron continued to thrive. In 2002, First Byron celebrated it Centennial Anniversary, and in 2003 dedicated a new, larger sanctuary and expanded facility.
God used First Byron to start several new churches: Second Christian Reformed, Heritage Christian Reformed, and Pathway Ministries. We are a church of today with a very rich heritage and we praise God for his faithfulness throughout the years.
